Watching a Romantic Jazz with Diana Krall

Jazz can be really complicated, but in the hand of Pianist-Vocalist Diana Krall, Jazz music is really good to hear and romantic. As romantic as the way she told about her twin Childs, Dexter and Frank, or her husband, Elvis Costello, in Concert gap.

Eleven music plus two encores, makes the flow seems so fast for about two hours in Ballroom Hotel Ritz-Carlton at Jakarta-Indonesia, Sunday Night (5/10). Comfort in the ears and very touching.

A romantic concert singer with tessitura (distance of a voice) contralto, and another three intrumentalist who good on it. Anthony Jay Wilson – Guitarist, Robert Leslie Hurst – Bass Snatch and so Emmanuel Karriem Riggins who really good on Solo.

Robert Hurst is a university-level instructor bass instrument on University of Michigan. On every his improvisation, Hurst (44) attract with playing melody. He really good plays that bass snatch.

Anthony Wilson (40), repeatedly Diana called his name, because his playing is very attractive and so drum percussion instrument, Emmanuel Riggins (33), on several change, Riggins hit the snare with bare hands like hitting a small drum in the Gamelan.

Attractiveness of their individuals is being shown up since the opening song, Love Being Here with You. And so on her hit from The Very Best of Krall (2007), “Let’s Fall In Love”.

One time, Diana intervent the song with a short tale, about her happiness with two twin kids who still at the age of twenty one months, Dexter and Frank, and her husband, England Music Elvis Costello.

Brazil Rhythm, Samba-Bossanova, is tickle too. Sure, bossanova on this Jazz Mainstrem version, on “The Look of Love” (This Album obtain a Grammy, on year 2001). Another Song that being sang that night is Did I Do, Let’s Face The Music and Dance (bossas too), Exactly Like You, A Case of You, Devil May Care, Gee Baby, Ain’t Good to You, and I Don’t Know Enough About You.

When being ask about Encore, two songs being bring all at once, S’Wonderfull and then East of The Sun. When perfomed in Jakarta on years 2002, Diana won’t perfomed in encore because the mood is not good, her mother, Adella, passed away.

On entire show, Diana Krall Music is nearly perfect. If Jakarta have a good concert building like Radio City at New York, that Acuistic is first-rate, or Esplanade in Singapore, no doubt it will be one of the best concert pianist-vocalist contralto jazz that being drop in on Jakarta.

Unfortunately, luxurious room on Ritz-Carlton not an ideal room for a concert. This room is fit for gathering festivity. Beyond that, Diana Krall is very-very my idol on Jazz =)
